JUDAS PRIEST: Synthetic Leather Rebels?!
September 16, 2002JUDAS PRIEST may look and act tough when performing onstage, but the legendary headbangers have big hearts when it comes to animals. In a recent letter to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA),the band's manager revealed the hard rockers' softer side, noting, "The members of JUDAS PRIEST are all animal lovers, and none of them condone any kind of cruelty to animals ... their stage clothes are not made from real leather — they are made from synthetic material."
JUDAS PRIEST became targets of PETA last month when PETA fired off a letter to band members asking that they change the title of their 1978 album from Hell Bent for Leather to Hell Bent for Pleather.
